Click on a state for The Takeaway's coverage of its close Senate race.
The Electoral College map and the presidential campaigns dominate media coverage, but there are number of races in Congress that have caught our attention. Though Democrats are expected to increase their slim majority*, 35 of the Senate's 100 seats are up for grabs this November, and they'll need to win some close contests to pass 60 and earn a filibuster-proof supermajority. The Takeaway is following the Senate races in Oregon, Minnesota and North Carolina, among other states.

* 51-49, which includes independent senators Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., and Joe Lieberman, ID-Conn., both of whom side with the Democrats.
