Rep. Lee Terry, R-Neb., is now running a newspaper ad that suggests that supporters of Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama should vote for him, an incumbent Republican. You’ll notice something different about the color of Terry’s campaign Web site and the T-shirts of his supporters.

Here’s the text from the newspaper ad:

“Obama-Terry Voter, anyone?”

I’ll admit it: I’m voting for Obama and Lee Terry.

Why?

Because I want our officials to work hard, be honest, exhibit strong ethics and be accessible.

That’s Lee Terry.

Ever talked with Lee? I have. You ask him questions, you get straight answers. I like that.

Please join me in voting for Lee Terry.

Melanie

Editor’s note: Incumbent Rep. Lee Terry, R-Neb., defeated Democratic challenger Jim Esch in the 2008 election for Nebraska’s 2nd Congressional District House seat, but by a smaller margin than in 2006, with 52.2 percent of the vote to Esch’s 47.8 percent.
