Mrs. Kunkel’s Class: 23 fifth graders, 2 candidates, 1 question

With the presidential campaign season coming down to its home stretch, everyone is talking politics — even elementary school students. We visited Mrs. Kunkel’s 5th grade class in Boiling Springs, Pennsylvania, and asked them what their one question would be for Republican nominee John McCain or Democratic nominee Barack Obama.   1. Excellent questions! Very thought provoking! It’s quite evident these 5th graders will help decide the future of our country and are already taking on the issues and avoiding the decisiveness that is so prevalent in today’s election.

  4. Wow! They certainly seem to be more in tune than I was when I was their age.

    What a boost in the polls for either candidate if they became aware of this and responded to each question by name in a response video.
